Henderson's New Book Investigates Large-Scale and Comprehensive Approaches for the Environment

Arguing that current efforts to address environmental issues are inadequate, Mark C. Henderson looks into comprehensive large-scale strategies for the environment.

His book makes the case that a set of simple changes to the taxation system could have a powerful impact on the environment and outlines a revenue-neutral large-scale strategy which could address most of the issues on the environmental agenda.

The strategy is, in the author's view, "simple, economically feasible, and could be implemented virtually overnight."

Henderson's approach addresses not only climate change but also non-renewable resources, renewable energy, contaminants, packaging, recycling and reuse, and changes in the automobile industry.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waves of the Future (November 19, 2008)
------------------------------------

Positive Review Received for Book on Large-Scale Strategies for the Environment.

David McCorquodale, co-chair of Green Pages (the US Green Party printed quarterly), just released a positive review for Mark C. Henderson's book on large-scale strategies for the environment. It is currently posted on the publisher's website (Waves of the Future, http://wavesofthefuture.net) and will appear in print in Green Pages in February 2009 (http://www.gp.org/greenpages).

From the review: “The book has convinced me that the ETS [the strategy proposed in the book] could be an immensely important tool for the environment, but the obstacles are sizable, especially in the United States.“ (David McCorquodale, November 2008).

Mark C. Henderson argues that large-scale approaches are our best hope of winning the battle for a green future. His book makes the case that simple economic policy changes could result in huge gains for the environment. Working from a number of political and economic principles, he develops a large-scale strategy which could address most environmental problems at very little expense.

The full review, the introduction and more details are available at the publisher's website.
