Predictions from Environment Book Become Reality

Some of the predictions in Mark C. Henderson's book on large-scale strategies for global warming and the environment have started to come true, namely the troubles in the North American automobile industry and the powerfulness of the environmental strategy he proposes.

Wasters, polluters, and those who do not care for the environment or are unable to adapt would only fall behind and see the fate of the dinosaurs. (p. 83) -- Mark C. Henderson, July 2008. Without government intervention, it is now clear that the North American auto industry might have all but disappeared in just a few months.

More interesting is the prediction that Henderson's large-scale strategy is powerful enough to single-handedly turn things around for the environment. His strategy is based on the same principles that almost sent the North American car industry into extinction and shifted the renewable-energy industry into overdrive, both virtually overnight.

From the review: The book has convinced me that the ETS [the strategy proposed by Henderson] could be an immensely important tool for the environment.... -- David McCorquodale (Nov. 2008), Co-chair of Green Pages, the US Green Party quarterly, http://www.gp.org/greenpages/. The full review is available here and will be in the next print issue of Green Pages (Feb. 2009).
